The great American economist and recipient of the Nobel Prize of Economics, Milton Friedman once said, “A society that puts equality before freedom will get neither. A society that puts freedom before equality will get a high degree of both.”

The former is true of socialism.

Although the fight for equal outcomes may appear just, the strategy to achieve this seriously flawed goal is damaging the country. One of the problems is that equality of outcome necessitates a guaranteed level of outcome. Foisting equality of outcome over opportunity actually strips people of equal rights, creating policies and regulations that serve to restrict freedoms of Americans. This is thinly veiled socialism and is part of the liberal agenda.
