Addressing the Tricky Question: "Who Created God?"

This question may cause discomfort for Christians when posed by atheists, and can even stump parents when their young children ask. While it may appear to challenge the concept of God's existence, it's actually straightforward to answer once the implications are understood.

Many people wonder about the origin of God. However, the answer is quite simple: God never had a beginning.

As mentioned in Psalms 90, God always was. The universe could not have existed unless something was there forever, which is confirmed in John 1:3, Colossians 1:16-17, and Hebrews 1:2. Therefore, the God who created the universe must have been present from the beginning, without a starting point. This is because the Law of Causality states that everything with a beginning has a cause. It might seem impossible for something to come from nothing, but it is entirely possible for Someone (in this case, God) to create something out of nothing.

God is the First Cause, or Creator, of everything that exists, and is therefore uncaused and eternal. God exists outside of time, is immutable, and is not composed of physical matter. It is through God's divine power that time, space, and matter came into being.

Asaph declares in Psalm 77:13–14, “Your ways, God, are holy. What god is as great as our God? You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples.”
